One of our users was experiencing the same issue you explained. And just as you stated in your post, there was no solution to be found on the internet. After signing into a different profile, it was determined that the microphone's access was disabled. However, this was the solution we found. Should the issue persist, it would likely be best to perform a clean installation of Windows on your machine.
Solution:
Go to the Start Menu
Search: "Microphone Privacy Settings"
Under the first section, if it should read, "Microphone access for this device is off"
Select "Change" and toggle the switch to turn it on

Hi
i have turned everything on but still the microphone ain’t working it doesn’t appear on control panel whenever I connect any mic it does not show up
It only listens to the laptop in built mic
if any solution please do help
