Why was this new issue not included in the weekly email summary for Precision Workstations? Is Dell purposely filtering out issues it doesn't want to talk about? Wholly disappointed in Dell for this omission, because I was SPECIFICALLY looking for feedback from other users experiencing this.

Hi,

Can you write about a bit more this bricked case. BIOS update is done 100% and the blank black screen?

I have seen during 1st start after BIOS update only Dell logo. Windows does not start. The rotating dots are missing. Plug off power cable for 10 seconds and next start is successful. Of course the Windows must be reinstalled if you ask from Dell support about the problem.

Thanks heikkuri for your response. Yes that's exactly my experience twice in the past:  BIOS update proceeded normally to the end, showing 100% complete and then never booted. Dell ProSupport replaced both laptops after attempting to boot. The latest replacement was done after they replaced the motherboard and somehow bitlocker encryption was set by the BIOS failure, so I lost all data on my onboard drives as a result.

As you can see, because of these experiences, I am very untrusting to blindly apply anything released from Dell. I'm hoping to hear some positive user experiences or assurances that this BIOS update won't brick yet another laptop.

No, I am not interested in chatting privately. To date, Dell has ignored my concerns with this issue and have been unable to explain why it happens or how I can avoid further problems with updates. I've spend HUNDREDS of wasted hours on this and other unresolved issues, and I'm done talking with Dell about their procedures and non-explanatuons!  I need some confidence that I can apply these BIOS updates without concern in the future. 

Other users have had experiences with BIOS updates, both positive and negative. I'd like to hear suggestions on how I can resolve this. Isn't that the purpose of this community?

New BIOS Update 1.10.0 March 20 released for Precision 7770 laptop.

Any positive experiences?

i not had ni problems with 1.10.0 bios
