Upgrading Precision M2800 to windows 11

I have a dell Precision M2800. Works great after all these years. I upgraded to an SSD and use it for work.

My question: this laptop has the infamous bug where it crashes when it enters the ultralow power state (ULPS) due to a bug that was never patched. I was able to successfully upgrade to windows 10 using the github script which monitors 'EnableUlps' value in windows registry and ensures it always set to 0.   github.com/qbsa/ulps

When I try to upgrade to windows 11 using Rufus, the system crashes. Has anyone been able to successfully upgrade to windows 11 on the Precision m2800?  How did you do it?

I finally got Windows 11 Version 25H2 working on the Precision M2800. I did a clean install which results in losing all your data/settings. The steps I took are below: I can not guarantee they will work for your particular setup.  Use at your own risk.

    1. Update Bios to latest version
    2. Change SATA Operation in Bios from RAID to AHCI.
    3. Download Rufus and a Windows 11 ISO to create a USB installation key with the latest version of Windows 11. Make sure to check all the bypass options in Rufus when creating the USB installation key such as bypass TPM, bypass secure boot etc.
    4. Download EnableUlps Watcher to same USB key: github.com/qbsa/ulps
    5. Disconnect from internet and "forget" all wifi connections
    6. In Windows press Windows + R, type "devmgmt.msc" and press Enter. Under display adapters, right-click and uninstall AMD Radeon HD 8790M drivers, making sure to check "Delete the driver software for this device" and then click "OK". Then, click "Action" > "Scan for hardware changes" and wait a few seconds to make sure no more AMD drivers reinstall. If the drivers come back, uninstall them again.
    7. Update to Windows 11 using Rufus from the USB key.  I did a clean install, which results in losing all your data. I did not try the option to keep your data/settings.
    8. When Windows 11 Install asks to connect to internet, you need to bypass this by Shift+F10 and typing oobe\bypassnr
    9. Once Windows 11 install is complete, copy EnableUlps Watcher to boot drive and install it. Reboot and make sure a service called "EnableULPS watcher service" is running.
    10. Reconnect to internet and Windows will install the rest of the drivers for you
