1710 printer options help needed -- poor documentation

I'm amazed at how poor the documentation is on the 1710 laser printer I received today. All sorts of printing and configuration options are completely undocumented.

Anyone know any online resources here or elsewhere that might document some of these printer options?

What do the ImageQ resolutions do?
What is "Picture grade?"

Power Save
Print Timeout
Wait Timeout
Are these values all minutes? What do print timeout and wait timeout do?

Resolution reduction?
Resource save?

There are others I'm curious about, but these are the biggies now. None of these are documented in the help files or  the printed manual. Is there documentation on this stuff anywhere on Dell.com?

Wow, I have all of the same questions!

I haven't been able to find answers to them....

After Googling around for those terms, I realized that the Dell drivers are identical to drivers for a Lexmark laser printer model. The 1710 must be a version of the Lexmark manufactured for Dell. The Lexmark docs were adequate.

Okay, just checked my archives... It's the Lexmark e240. It's nearly identical to the 1710, but their PDF manual is much better than the inadequate docs Dell supplies.

You can get the Owner's Manual and Users's Guide at this link.

Thanks, Gina. However, Dell's documentation completely omits any explanation of the printer driver settings.

The driver for the Lexmark e240 is identical to the 1710's. The e240's manual actually explains the printer driver settings. You can find it here.

Thanks Denny - your post helped a lot and I found some of the answers I was looking for.

Gina - the Dell manual is just about useless.  I wouldn't have had to post here if it answered any of these questions!
