1815dn scan troubleshooting

The Dell Network Scan Manager does not find the scanner in the network. Printing works just fine. We are using a static IP and our 1815dn is directly connected to the network. Any suggestions or a troubleshoot guide would be welcome. Thanks.

I assumed you are using the 1815 version of network scan. The 1600N version will not works with 1815 or vise versa.

Try use the Network status monitor center to talk to the 1815 and disable SLP IPP SNMP etc. you may only need TCPIP.  Set the network mask and gateway right.

Disabling SLP IPP etc. did not solve the problem. The network mask and gateway is correct. Any more ideas?

Try using the Network Scan Manager to see if the printer is recognized. If it is, remove it and add the device again.  If you can print but cannot see it in the Network Scan Manager then you have a firewall issue or some security settings that are blocking you from seeing it.

Good Luck!

Assume the network status monitor is working fine as you could disable options.
So try up date the firmware and network scan, both have a new version lately.

Try differnent computers, try different version and try unistall it...
Needs more clue for troubleshooting.

Hi Same happened to me ...

It turned out that Dell had shipped me a driver A00 Cdrom, which was incompatible with the Firmware in the printer !

After installing the latest Firmware & drivers, the scanner part of the 1815 now works
