3115cn MFP laser printer and error 077-900

Hey guys,

So we've had this printer for many years now and it's been working great. Just a few weeks ago we replaced the belt unit (since the printer had been saying it's be "close to life" for several months). We ordered a UG190 Maintenance Kit from Directron (link here: http://www.directron.com/print-14756.html ). It's been a couple weeks now since we installed the maintenance kit and now we keep getting the 077-901 error all the time. It doesn't really happen with one piece of paper, but instead when printing multiple pieces of paper.

There doesn't appear to be any paper physically jammed or built-up anywhere, so I'm guess it's some kind of paper sensor issue?

EDIT: I've changed the title, to reflect the new error I've been getting (which is 077-900)

Yeah I figured as much. I just double-checked the printer's settings and the paper settings are still at letter, which is what they're always at.

That's indeed with the sensor. Somehow, the media doesnt exit the printer on the specific time. This might just be a setting issue. Make sure that tray settings are correct, as well on the driver settings and the application you are using to print. If one if this is incorrect (letter vs legal), it's gonna throw that error.

Yeah I actually read through that thread and while he was incredibly helpful, it did seem like his answer is more aimed at an actual physical paper jam. I ran through the Customer Diagnosis mode thing and got "DI-3 L 0", which, according to that thread, means there is not a paper jam. Also, the paper sensor area on our printer (3115cn) looks a little different than the one he was posting about (3110cn), and the sensor seems to be in a different position? Unless I am mistaken.

    Rusty Pipe,

Wish I could help more but I don't know much about the Dell Laser Printers. In the search box on the right, type your error or problem and type llynster after it. If yo get a hit, you may be able to solve your issue until someone comes along and has an answer. Some of the Dell Social Media members may stop by and help.

Yeah I'm wondering if it isn't the fuser that came with the maintenance kit. One of the gray plastic clips is slightly broken, but the fuser seems to still sit in place. Also I noticed today that several pieces of paper were being taken at the same time from the tray, and have been getting stuck around the bottom where paper is first picked up. But it seems weird that the paper sensor is the issue when it had been working completely fine for so long and then suddenly stopped as soon as the maintenance kit was installed.
