966 all in one printer

I have my printer set up wireless. I can copy but I can not scan because the printer is asking for a PIN? I can not use the fax feature also?

What should be the default printer?

Dell Photo AIO Printer 966 or Fax Dell Photo AIO Printer 966

I have the Fax Dell Photo AIO Printer 966 set as the default rigt now.

When an incomming call comes in it's not showing up on the printer 966 screen right now.

On the fax setting shuld the Auto Anwser be set to ON or OFF.

Default printer should be Dell Photo AIO Printer 966

Incoming call should at least light up the screen on the printer. Check start, all programs, Dell printers, Dell Photo AIO Printer 966, Printer setup Utility. Fax answering settings are there. If using dinstinctive ring, you need to subscribe to this feature with the phone company.

I was able to locate the abby reader. When I clicked on it a bunch of folders opened & I did not know where to go from there to install the OCR program.

iseeu2,

I forgot to mention, do you have the printer disk. If so, insert the disk and then click cancel. Go to my computer and locate the drive the disk is in and right click, left click explore. Look for the OCR folder. Locate setup for abby reader and this will install the OCR program, I had to do this on mine.

isseu2,

In the Abby folder, you should see setup.exe, right click on it and run as administrator. Lauch the program at the end of installation and do the agreement.

In the Abby folder there is setup setup but no setup.exe. When I right clicked on setup setup & run my name shows but no administrator shown.

iseeu2,

Sorry, I thought it was just a download.

If you have the printer disk, double click my computer. Go to the drive with the Dellxxx disk and right click on it, left click explore. Go to the OCR folder and double click on it. Go to setup.exe and double click on it. This will install the OCR Program.

Or

Try this FREE OCR Program.

If I double click on the setup of Abbyy it will remove from my computer & will no longer be available for use. The link you sent me is only a trial for 15 days

Abbyy FineReader Sprint Software 6.0

Mabey I'll just remove the printer from my computer again & reinstall with the Dell cd.

Rick,

I received emails saying to add you as a friend that I did. I also responded to your email to email me the updates. I used the fax today & the person I faxed said the one side of the paper came to them with a black line on it?

iseeu2,

I had a small glitch. I send the setup file only as the rest was too big to send via email. It should be in your mailbox with instructions. Let me know how you make out or if you need anyything else out of the folder.

Rick,

I tryed all the software you offered me & nothing has helped my Dell 966 AOI. I contacted Netgear to find out about the wireless adapter I brought because Dell said I needed it to make my Dell 966 AOI work wireless? I found out that it is something that is not needed to use for a wireless conection. Now I can use my computer with my modem & netgear equipment that my internet provider gave me works on that equipment. I am going to try to reinstall the 966 AIO printer. Do you Know as stated in the manual how the 966 AIO printer can be set to factory settings?

Sorry, I was watching the 2 hour 24 series. Commercial right now.

To reset the printer back, the instructions are in this post.
