I just purchased a 1700 from Dell without even thinking that they might make a printer without drivers for mac. I have several printers in my business from HP, Lexmark, and Brother and it didn't even occur to me that a company would make a printer without support for a modern business environment. Does anyone know where I might find such a driver....?

I think I may have jumped the gun. It appears as though the MAC clients can print without any setup at all. I don't support the mac users very often and forget that they are mostly plug and play with everything. A utility for managing the printer would still be nice for them though. It looks like Lexmark actually manufactured this printer so maybe I'll go directly to Lexmark and see if I can get support for the non-microsoft users.

I am going to try this - hope it works
I did the same. You would certianly think Dell Printers should work
Dell posts a driver for MAC but it is a .exe file and useless of course . Dell customer support was absolutely outrageous on this--claiming they will not stand behind the printer since it was not made by them---wonder who stuck the Dell label on it??? Dell rep said if I used a Lexmark driver it would void the warranty.
Michael Dell...hello?? anyone listening???
