dell 922 all in one printer problems

printer worked before but hadnt been used for a month, now a little led light just to the right of the power light is flashing and the printer will not print, the power button itself is lit and steady, is that little led next to the power button actually the power button led? when i tell it to print  i see a graph on my computer screeen saying its sending the job to the printer 0-100% then nothing,  i see in the printer readout that the right and left  ink carts are not in right, they were bought from dell and are the proper ones, i have put them in and out several times with same msg. i uninstalled the printer and reinstalled the printer with the cd that came with printer and that does no good, im wondering if i should change the usb printer cable, maybe the computer isnt talking to the printer, altho i get no messages from the computer saying so. i hate to buy new ink cartridges again.

    yooperz,

It sounds like you allowed Microsoft to update your drivers. Microsoft updates the drivers and usually offers the wrong drivers and/or the get installed wrong causing devices to have problems.

Please follow the instructions below and the printer should install for you. Please make sure you have all Windows Updates, especially .net framework(needed to run many applications) and the latest Java.

Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch (a MUST with Vista machines) to completely remove the printer from your computer.

    Restart your computer.

    Download the proper drivers

    XP Drivers

    Vista 32-bit Drivers

    Vista 64-bit Drivers

    All other drivers

Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer.

    Scanning

Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.

Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.

    Rick
