Print Error 6162 - GDI Objects

  Windows 2003 sp 2 print server

  XP sp 2 Clients

  printers W5120n (XL Drivers)

              M5200 (XL Drivers)

-  Users are calling up saying the were unable to print.  Restarting the Print Spooler Services fixes the problem temporaorly.  In the eventlog when users are having a problem are Print error 6162 "The spooler has detected that a component has an unusually large number of open GDI objects.  As a result some EMF print jobs might not print until the spooler is restarted"

-  I start doing some monitoring (manually watching task manager) and the GDI objects seem to increase with all print jobs on the server, but most of the time the count then goes back down.  Except for the two printers with the XL drivers loaded.

-  Anyone have any ideas?  The m5200 has other print drivers available so I will start by changing that driver.  But the W5210n appears to only have one version of the driver available?
