I have same problem....I wonder if you actually have to print an envelope in a program such as 'Picture It' & the Dell printer is just 'set' for printing envelopes.
I don't know of what good this will be, but we print envelopes on the A940 without taking any steps, and it is done the same way with our HP printer. Difference is we use WordPerfect. It has a "wizard" for envelope printing, but it can be done manually as well. The wizard sets the paper size to that of the envelope and sets landscape orientation. Printing is basically no different from printing any document landscape -- it's just an initial paper size selection.
That A940 toolbox isn't used at all in the process.
I'd suggest checking the Microsoft Word documentation for the steps necessary in printing an envelope.
When printing envelopes you must set up the print properties from the application, click File, Print, Properties, Paper Size/Setup, Envelope. Select the Envelope size from the list and click Portrait or Landscape orientation.
Unfortunately, I can't seem print an envelope from StarWriter (StarOffice 7). The application does not specify an orientation (meaning the direction the envelope is fed into the printer, not portrait vs. landscape) that matchs the instructions for my Dell 920. The 920 calls for the stamp at top left, but StarWriter only allows the stamp to be at bottom. Any ideas?
