Rick thank you for your reply. When I click on the printer icon and go to documents, there are none. I tried left clicking printer then click cancel all documents then restarting and it still is printing long ways. I did a copy and paste to MS word and the printer printed correctly but when I just highlight the same sentence from the webpage it prints sideways.
I went to this folder (C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS) and it is empty. I am so confused.
What are you printing from? Microsoft Word or similar program?
Did you click on format page and make sure the settings were for Portrait instead of landscape? It wouldn't matter what the printer settings are if the document is told landscape, it will always print landscape.
You can check the printer settings...
Start, control panel, devices and printers, your printer, printer preferences. You can check your settings there.
I'm not sure that I'm using word, most of the things I print are from webpages. I highlight what I what printed and print selection. Sometimes I have to print out forms that I will get from google. So I don't know if word has anything to do with it. Again thank you for your help.
I just tried using IE and the printer printed correctly only very small. I also printed out a PDF form I brought up from google, which also printed correctly. So I guessing that there is a setting in Firefox (which I usually use) that is wrong. Do you have any idea what that would be?

Rick,
When I right click my printer and click printing preferences - checked on the print setup tab from top to bottom
automatic
plain
81/2 X 11
portrait
I only tried coping with word to see what would happen. I'm not very good with computers and am just grasping at straws. Thanks for helping me.

slotr1,
What are you trying to print from? If Mcrosoft Word, I don't have access to Microsoft Word until I get back to work, so it may be a few days.

slotr1,
What browser are you using? Did you try a different browser, like Mozilla Firefox?
Do all the browsers print landscape of just the one?

slotr1,
Open Firefox. Click on file, page setup. Make sure it's set for portrait.
I use Print print preview as a add-on and click on page preview. You can select shrink to fit or 80% is about a nice size
