Time Executable has stopped working
I have a Dell Photo 966 running under Windows-7. Every time a print finishes, I then get the message "Time Executable has stopped working", and I have to click -Close the Program'. Printing work OK, and I can print more docs without problem. Just pretty irritating it happens on every print.

Hi daveq2,
You can try the following steps to resolve this issue:
Stop and Restart the Dlcq_Device Service:
Perform the steps below to stop and restart the Windows service for this printer.
If this does not work, you can uninstall and reinstall the printer driver for your computer.
To uninstall printer drivers completely:
Click on Start/Windows logo on desktop -- > Control panel -- > Programs and features -- > Locate Dell 966 printer -- > Right click and uninstall -- > Restart your computer (Make sure that printer USB cable is disconnected from the computer).
Once the computer restarts, you can download the printer driver from the link below:
http://dell.to/S7p4Ob
Steps to download drivers:-
If you have a printer CD, you can follow the steps below to reinstall printer again:
If this does not work, It may be a mechanical failure with the scanner. I am adding you as a friend; please accept my friend request and send me a private message with the system Service Tag so that I can check the system warranty details and help you further.
Please reply in case you have further questions.

During the install it asked for the USB cable to be plugged in. As soon as I did, Windows recognised it and installed. I let the All-in-one continue installing. The situation is now much worse. I got 'Time executable stopped' as it finished installing, and get whenever I re-boot. The printer appears in 'Devices and Printers' but any attempt to use it, or to print, finds no printers installed. I can scan, but not using the All-in-one interface.
If I now try to install a printer, Windows claims the Print Service Spooler is not running. If I manually start it, it gets stopped whenever I try to print.
Its now complete mess.
How do I accpt your friend request?

Thanks for the complete & detailed explanations!
Following uninstall, still the following in Devices & Printers
Following refused to delete, because open in print spooler:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\Rica4dus
C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86
So I stopeed the spooler service & then they deleted OK
Neither of these exist:
Results:
Printer now working again, but Time Executeable Stopped Working message still appears after every print!
NB: All my other printers have now disappeared as well. Wil have to re-install them
Following refused to delete, because open in print spooler:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\Rica4dus
C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86
So I stopeed the spooler service & then deleted OK
Neither on list:
LexBCE (if applicable)
HTTP & other dependencies

Hi daveq2,
Thank you for your response and the efforts you put in to resolve this issue. Since we have tried reinstalling the printer driver and have checked the registry settings as well, it appears to be an issue with Operating system of your computer. You can perform an Operating system reinstallation on your computer to resolve this issue.
Note: Before you proceed with that, I will advise you to take a complete backup of your data (pictures, music, applications, videos, documents) as this step leads to complete data loss. Remove all the external peripherals (like printers, scanners, any USB device except keyboard and mouse) connected to your computer.
Steps for Operating system reinstallation are:
Once the Operating system reinstallation is complete, please install the drivers for your computer in following sequence:
Please reply for further clarifications.

I too have tried re-installing the printer and drivers. I have a 926, but I see that lot's of people are having this issue with many Dell models.
Is there anything that Dell can do, or do we have to buy an HP?
Thanks!!!!
