Dell Client Device Manager Notification Not Persistent
Hi,
We are using DCDM 5.5.0 in a corporate environment of about 900 devices. We configured DCDM using Intune Configurations Profiles. We enable installation deferral so that the user get notified every hour, 8 times, until the update installation is forced. Laptop reboot is also forced upon updates installation. The issue is : the toast notifications are not persistent, so most of the users are missing them, and they complain there device is rebooting without notice. Notifications history can be retrieved from the Windows notification center, but this does not help obviously. For me, this is a design flaw, as a toast notification can be set as persistent (how could a user possibly click the Install Now button if the notification disappeared after a few seconds !). I reach out to our Dell Tech Team, and the answer is quite deceiving :they just said this is by design, and we should script something to workaround this (like detecting notification or analysing application logs...).
I cannot believe a corporate app like this one is touched by such an annoying issue.
I am asking the community : are you experiencing the same issue ? How are you dealing with this ?
Thank you.
