Dell Data Protection | Encryption

Hi community, newbie here with a Dell Latitute 5550.

I've been having serious problems with some of the software that comes pre-installed from Dell. Dell Data Protection | Encryption. 

It would constantly ask to encrypt my external drives and other various media devices which was alright for a while, until it corrupted a few drives and I lost some work.

I decided to uninstall it and it seemed to uninstall with no problems. However, upon arriving into work this morning I found that I could little to no files on the hard drive... 

I had no access to my emails, no access to my development files and folders and I'm assuming some program files within Visual Studio as it also fails to start up now. ***, even some extensions for Google Chrome have stopped functioning altogether...

All of these were accessible and running before I uninstalled Dell Data Protection. 

I even tried performing a system restore at a point just before I uninstalled the programs but this failed.

Has anyone any ideas as to how I can get access to my files again??
