Dell Dock .NET Framework error message
Dear all:
My Dell Dock has suddenly stopped working, and I'm receiving an error message saying, "To run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v2.0.50727". I have not updated Windows recently, and I tried to uninstall the Dell Dock and reinstall it, but I receive the same error message during the uninstall process and the program never finishes to uninstall.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Anita

I've never known an instance of a Dell Dock requiring .NET Framework to be installed. This is a sort of programming environment that is used by some applications, sort of like a BASIC interpreter. It is easy enough to install it since it is available on the Microsoft site, but I think I would be worrying that the computer was infected with a virus. Have you performed any scans recently?
You might want to consider posting this in the Malware section of the forum.

I recently reinstalled Symantec Antivirus on my computer, but nothing else has changed besides my Dell Dock. I performed a full scan and it didn't detect anything. It still seems like a possibility, though. Any other ideas?

If your computer is operating normally aside from the Dell Dock problem, and you're reasonably confident that it has no active viruses, you can try installing .NET Framework 2. You can find it here: .NET Framework 2 Download. There are a few updates to this so you may need to allow it to finish the update process before you actually try to use it.
