Dell Support and Computer Software Updates

After installing Dell Support 5.0.0.766 ("About" window) a Dell Support screen came up to scan my computer. It let me know which programs on my computer have updates available.

I had to reboot after updating my JAVA. Even as I re-ran "Dell Support" (Maintenance and Security) this other service didn't start. How can I launch it as there was more software with updates?

There was a separate program, other than "Maintenance" and "Security" that started up (from Dell) that offered to scan my computer to see if I needed any programs updated. In fact there were 4 or 5 that, following it's scan, did have updates available. I'm trying to get back to that list. I lost it when I needed to reboot after installing a JAVA update. It did not start automatically or after retrying "Maintenance" and "Security".
Let me know if that is clear.
Thanks.

I am wondering if maybe the program that came up was the Desktop System Software Utility (DSS) and not the Dell Support Tool (DST)?

Go to the downloads for your system type and look for Desktop System Software Utility (DSS). Load it and see what it does.
