Dell Update Application broken

I recently updated the Dell Update Application on my Dell Inspiron 3670 desktop PC, and now when I run it and click on CHECK it hangs with the Warning: An operation is currently in progress. Please wait until it completes.
The progress bar is stuck on "Operation is 40% completed..." I've tried restarting my computer several times, but
it still does this. Is there some way to repair or remove/reinstall this application to fix it ?

@abhi__4  - Well, you can continue to post on this forum, and another member might have a solution that works for you. I'm not sure if you can uninstall this application and then download a fresh version from the Dell website. They do offer the option to download updates manually from the website, so you can still update your computer, even if it doesn't have Dell Update installed on it. I don't think you need an active warranty to do this.

@Texas Mike  Dell update. Actually, whenever I open the software and click on check for update, It shows a warning - "An operation is currently in progress. Please wait until it completes" but the progress bar is stuck at 10%.

Well, today I ran Dell Update and again had the same problem. So, I again repaired it, and again it is working properly. There seems to be some problem with this version that Dell needs to fix. I decided to download the program from the Dell website, and if it happens again I will uninstall it and then make a fresh install.

@cfireborn - Did you try to uninstall and then reinstall a fresh copy from the Dell website ?

I did, and now opening dell update only pops up a desktop notification and then closes out. Dell support has advised waiting until a new patch for Update and reinstalling then
I'll hang tight for now. Ironically the only thing that it was trying to update was Dell Update itself. I pretty regularly run SupportAssist's suite, so the rest of my drivers are up to date for now.
