Does the Dell update app request McAfee updates when McAfee was uninstalled?

I removed licensed McAfee from my system 2-3 months ago.  In the last 24 hours (Feb 25,26 of 2021) there were 30 Microsoft ordered updates.  Three of them were McAfee even though Windows defender has been my only antivirus program.  My license expired Feb 13 and I have been getting email reminders almost weekly since November.  I have no intention of putting McAfee back on my system and do not understand how these "upgrades" got installed when their app is not present.
