PROBLEM WITH DELL DIGITAL DELIVERY
Dell Digitial Delivery v.2.5 is not working. Opened computer today, tried to use DDD to download software that was purchased but not installed. Keeps giving error message: --"Dell Digital Delivery has not been able to connect to the internet. Please make sure you are connected and try again." - even tho I AM connected to the internet.
Also, not sure if related but am not able to register my new Office 2013 product either. Never had this issue on brand new computer right out of the box before.
This is an Inspiron running Win 7 Pro, 64bit.
Dell Tech support was also unable to fix the problem

Version of DDD provided by Dell online associated with laptop's service tag was wrong version (2.1). Searched for later version (2.2x) using NO service tag filter, just pulling up ALL available drivers and software for laptop model & OS. Using later version of DDD worked.
Re: Office activation - completely uninstalled but had to run MS "fix it" software to clean out some pre-installed or residual settings or files (not sure what it cleaned out) , and then re-install Office 2013 again , then it was able to activate. suspect since it would not activate after initial install, that something came pre-installed on HD that was preventing activation.

I had the same problem. Go to the dell support site and re install dell digital download. It worked for me.
Not sure about your Office 2013 problem.

Hello Roccod,
As Dmorrow has said, I would also suggest you to uninstall and re-install Dell Digital Delivery (Start - Control Panel - Program and Features).
For more details, see How do I use Dell Digital Delivery.
Regarding the MS Office 2013, please help me understand the following details:
Awaiting your response!

Hi.. thanks, all.
RE: Digital Download Delivery: The problem appears to be with the version that was being installed, even tho that version was the one suggested by Dell website when entering in my service tag number. The version offered up when entering my service tag was version 2.1 - That version does not work, no matter how many times you install / reinstall ...
What I had to do was to uninstall, then go back to Dell's website and NOT put in any service tag info.. just asked it to show me all software for this model laptop and my O/S. Then, a different version (2.2x) was available. I downloaded that version, and it worked perfectly.
So, not sure why Dell is offering an incompatible version of DDD when entering this particular service tag, but.. ??
Dell could not figure out the issue, and wound up sending me a new hard drive, which I did not have to use, so sent it back.
RE: MS OFFICE 2013 Activation problem: Yes, I installed Office 2013. I also installed it as administrator (right mouse click, run as admin). It was also a download, but not delivered via DDD. The product key is the product key that came on the MS license sheet w/ the computer. Downloaded from the link provided on the same paperwork.
The error was " We're sorry, something went wrong and we can't do this for you right now. Please try again later. (0x80070005)"
I tried a couple times uninstalling / reinstalling, however I finally solved the issue by uninstalling but then having to run the MS "FIX IT" software to COMPLETLY uninstall whatever was preventing Office from activating.
It would not activate when first installed, and would not activate after uninstalling (via traditional method = control panel) and re-installing. Only after running FIX IT and re-installing would it allow me to activate. So, seems like there was something already installed on the brand new drive that had to be preventing it from activating.. I honestly still do not know exactly what Fix It cleaned out, but whatever it is, it worked after that.
Thanks again :)
