What is SQL library?

When I start up my computer, I get a message saying something about the microsoft SQL Library failed:

SQLDUMPER failed initialization
your installation is either corrupt or
has been tampered with.  Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.

First of all, I don't recall installing microsoft SQL, so what exactly is SQL?  I did check in my add/remove folder and there are some SQL files:

Microsoft SQL Sever Native Client

Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files

Microsoft SQL Sever VSS writer.

If I remove these, do I have to reinstall them or will they affect one of the progams on my PC?

I have Dell Windows XP

Usually, a limited version of SQL is installed with Outlook Business Contact Manager. It may also be used by another program that has data.

Try removing it. If it causes a problem, you'll be prompted to re-install the program that uses SQL.

SQL=Structured Query Language. SQL Server is used by large companies to hold data on customers, orders, etc. Microsoft Access, Excel, and Outlook Business Contact Manager have the capability to use SQL, in a limited form.

Thank you Abach, I think I figured out what happened.  I had downloaded Microsoftt office accounting 2007 and then I uninstalled it.  I think I got it from the give away of the day website.  When I uninstalled it, it must have uninstalled the SQL library.  Now I have to figure how to reinstall the SQL library.

I have the same problem.  But now my computer is starting up slower and slower.   When I tried to repair the SQL files, it still comes up.  Do you have to reinstall XP? I'm not sure I have the disk to do this.  I purchased from Dell and have moved several times and can not find the disk that came with it.  Any suggestions?

Hi cavgl, I thought the SQL library had something to do with Mircrosoft Office Word and Excell.  Where did you go to repair it because I haven't been able to find that out yet.

I thought it was Office also. When I went to control panel, add and remove/ if you click the SQL add or remove/it will ask if you want to repair. I clicked repair and it said to use the disk. So I put the original office disk in and it still ask for the right disk. I just thought it was talking about the XP disk then.

SQL Server (Express) is installed with a particular program. You can also find it available for download << here >>

There is also the compact edition (which is what I have, though I don't know what installed it). It can be downloaded from

The differences between compact and express editions are given here:
