Why Use Dell Backup & Recovery?

From my reading in this forum, I gather that the DELL Backup & Recovery facility poisons the Windows Create System Recovery Disc function rendering it useless. I also gather that the DELL product insists on exclusive use of any local backup media as it erases everything else on that drive.  I also gather that the DELL product will not backup "everything" from your hard drive.

With all these exclusions, I wonder why would anyone use this thing?  The Windows Backup System for Windows 7 & 8 provides good image backup support -- without demanding exclusive rights to the external drive.  Good external hard drives from WD (for example) contain a backup application that allows continuous backups to the external drive.  And you can always be sure of where your files are stored not to mention control over who can access them.

So what's the incentive to use the DELL backup?  I'd really like to know.
