blank screen "words"

brand new owner of what I thought would be a great exp with a dell projector. My trouble is with the blank screen. The video mute warning at the bottom of the screen does not go away...it stays there. Dell says that is the way it works, no other help and thier customer service won't even consider an exchange or return. First projector I have ever used where words stay up on a blank screen. Anyone have any advice? I am very upset with Dell and am fed up with thier "customer no service". I wonder what Michael would think if he knew. Maybe a registered letter is next.

    joeinthefalls,

What model? If you connect the projector to a notebook, do you not see the notebook desktop on the screen?

What are the toggle keys to be able to view the lap top screen and also have the projection on the wall.

On a laptop the toggle for external video is generally the function (FN) and the F8 button.

Most models of laptops I have used, including the Dell, the screen goes black and the image is displayed thru the projector. Sometimes another FN+F8 will dual up the display, sometimes it will not. Wish I had a firm answer for you.
