Home Theatre

Hey Guys and Gals,
I am new the the projector forum and the projectors itself. I am building a house right now and I am going to have my builder do my theatre in the basement. It will be a large room with no windows, so it can be completely dark. I want a good projector price is no matter can someone tell me what they think. The wall is huge so size is no matter either. DO you reccomend a HUGE tv, or should I go with the projector. The only con I see with going with a projector is if I want to turn on the lights then the picture of the projector wont be as good and the lightbulb, if it burns out it is 300 dollars to replace. How is the picture, is it CLEAR and CRISP and in HDTV? The sound wont be a problem either. thats whats good about having a son that works at a huge home stereo store;-). Anyway if someone could tell me what they did, or would do please help. Thanks alot!

I have been using the 3300 for about 6 months as a 74 inch TV.  I have normal cable and the picture really depends on the station and program you are watching.  But for DVDs I think that it is better then being at the movie theater, just make sure that you connect the DVD using component cables.  I think that projectors are the way to go.  If you really look the "big" TVs they have to have bulbs replaced also.  To extend the life of the bulb there is a setting that will extend the life of the bulb from 2000 hours to 5000 hours, this feature cost about 5% of the brightness but when the room is dark it isn't noticeable.
