mp2200 component problems

I recently moved and had my mp 2200 remounted.  At the old place, I used a 25 foot component to vga cable and it worked fine especially with direct tv hd channels.  Since the new install, I had to run a longer vga cable so I connected it to the 25 foot one and now I have no RED color coming through at all.  The green and blue's are fine.  I went back to the old 25 ft cable by itself without the vga extension cord and still no red.  I rechecked all connections.  I have used the original short cable that came with the projector to hook up straight to a dvd player with the same results, no RED.  The projector worked fine at the old place just 2 weeks ago, I can't understand why component is not working now.   S video input works fine with my direct tv hd receiver and dvd player.  Anyone have any ideas?    I do not think this is a cable problem.
