Cannot Add Users to 2161DS

Question

I have a 2161DS and have access to console as well as remoteley, but I am unable to add users.  When I click the node to manage users I receive the message 'There was an error retrieving information from the Remote Console Switch'. I only get this message on this node.  In the console, when I opt to view the LDAP CA Certificate, I receive a message that the certificate can not be found but I have not located any information in the documentation as to how one can get the certificate onto the device. I would like to set up users on this system.  Please help!!!

Are you having problems with setting up users via the local KVM accounts or using the LDAP feature? Also, make sure that you have the latest RCS software version from dell.avocent.com. For LDAP/certificate setup guide click on help listed under the RCS software which will have all of the information that you need for setup. I haven't seen this particular issue and it seems that either the switches config was erased and it still has the retained information. The last recommended solution would be to perform a restore factory defaults and start from fresh with a wiped out switch.

I downloaded OBWI_1.2.3.1.fl but when I attempted the upgrade, it said that this was not a compatible version.  Perhaps that is because this is for a 2161DS-2 and we have a 2161DS.

If you click on the downloads section on the left hand side their is a 2161DS firmware which was the last version created. The RCS software version is on the main page which is the current version.
