Dell, you have constantly disappointed me. I will never buy another dell. My father bought me an inspiron 9100 for college...from day one, it ran hot and slow. My mom's $400 toshiba runs twice as fast as my system. It's supposed to be a gaming laptop, but I can't even play educational games from 2001 without the thing crawling at like, 1-2 fps. YES I HAVE CLEANED OUT THE FANS AND VENTS! Basically, dell, you made a defective product, and you wouldn't own up to that while I was under warranty. Now that you are finally owning up to it, you won't give me support without stealing more money from me. Let this be a warning to the rest of you...if you have a product that you KNOW doesn't work correctly, then RETURN IT immediately before your warranty expires. Dell, if you wish to convince me and the rest of customers that you are in fact not evil, you will replace my system right now, or at least talk to me about it without making me pay $40. Jerks.

Actually, substitute Toshiba for Dell, and these are my problems. Currently, I'm on the seventh repair of my Toshiba. I think these laptops in general are very fragile, and unreliable.

That's because if you remove the nameplate, you'll find that Toshiba notebooks, aside from the styling, are as similar to Dell notebooks as Chevrolets are to Pontiacs - the same two companies supply most of Dell and Toshiba's machines.

Dell poweredge R730 missing advanced ecc option in bios

Hello,

I have two dell servers, I have put 128gb with 8 16gb dimm in all "white" ram slots.

I supposed now I can activate "advanced ecc" ram option in bios.

But I do not see it in the bios options.

How can I do?

Infact in my case only "optimizer mode" appears in bios options.

Why? I need "advanced ecc" mode.

please validate that you have only ECC memory installed.

Hello

you have to populate this slots:

A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8

so half white and half black.

Not all white slots.
