Dell R730xd Unraid set up with PERC H730 raid controller issues
Hey I am trying to set up my new to me Dell R730XD server to move my existing unraid set up over to. Initially all of my installed drives were showing up in the BIOS. I got the raid controller set to HBA mode and managed to boot my Unraid server.
This is where I ran into some issues. My drives are not showing up in Unraid, not even unassigned drives. I went back to the system config to check if the drives are still showing in bios. However, the option to see the PERC H730 controller is now gone so I cant see my drives.
Any advice on what to do from here?

Assuming the physical connection was correct from the start, something must have been changed in the BIOS settings and disabled.
Please provide any information you have regarding the color and frequency of the disk or Health LED indicators.

Yes initially when I entered the perc controller in the system set up all my installed drives were showing. It was only when I switched to HBA and installed my unraid flash drive then restarted the system and booted into unraid that it stopped showing the drives. I also tried to enter the perc controller in the system set up but it stopped showing the controller all together.

Hello @DCoy3, have you tried reseating the H30 or/and powercycled the system?

@DELL-Young E yes I have power cycled a few times. I dont know how to reset the h30 though.

Hi,
Dell-Young E requested a reseat not a reset for troubleshooting.
Most likely recovery path but only do this if you have a backup.
Power the server off completely.
Go into BIOS and restore the SATA/embedded controller setting to the Dell default that makes the Perc visible again.
Check whether the PERC reappears in the storage/device menu.
If it does, delete any leftover virtual disk configuration only if you are certain the disks are not meant to stay in a RAID set.
Then switch the controller to proper HBA/non-RAID behavior and reboot back into Unraid
