Flashing iDRAC R620

Hi All

I have, what looks to be a very old R620 that I'm trying to repurpose.
The iDRAC is failing to initialise and I'm trying to rescue it by using the vFlash sd card slot on the front.
Unfortunately, I can't find the existing firmware 1.30.30.27 for it anywhere.
My bios version is also super old (1.4.8).

I have already tried loading firmimg.d7 for version 1.57.57 but this didn't do anything at all.
I have also already drained the power for a couple of days and an NVRAM clear but no luck.

Any ideas, please?

Cheers

    Hi Martin

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I'm unable to install it.
I've booted from USB into the support live image and I get the below response from any binary file I try and execute.

I know the above isn't the file you recommended but I get the same response regardless.
    Am I missing something?

    Cheers

Hi, if you want to install that version you need to have "Installation prerequisites iDRAC7 version 1.55.55" first.
    https://dell.to/32FvVja (page 12)
Please see your iDRAC version first.

    Just some notes:

For 12Gen and up dell offers a "platform" ISO which is a self booted Linux and automatically try to upgrade all of your existing HW to the latest FW. <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

When ever we have a "unable to initialize iDRAC" which doesnt come back after a powerdraining dell replace the iDRAC to solve the problem.

The suggested 1.55 version for LCC triggers something in my brain. A loooooonng time ago Dell needs to replace something in the RootCA Chain and older system cant verify the integrity of later DUP and Update packages. The 1.55 was the intermediate version which upgrade the Certificates.
But if you face this kind of problem you will get a very clear error msg about the issue. It might be possible that this was related to 11Gen.

All of our R620 are running latest FW so finger crossing that will to manage it also.  Iam not so optimistic about the iDRAC.

    Regards,
    Joerg
