To further muddy the issue, the M610 spec sheet states:
PERC H200 Modular (6Gb/s) PERC H700 Modular (6Gb/s) with 512MB battery-backed cache; 512MB, 1GB Non-Volatile battery-backed cache SAS 6/iR Modular CERC 6/i Modular PERC 6/i Modular with 256MB battery-backed cache
While the R310 spec sheet lists the SAS 6/iR HAB as compatible also (modular).
Why is the SAS 6/iR modular compatible with both the R310 and M610, but the H200 modular appears to only be compatible with the M610, while the H200 adapter version is compatible with both?
No, the H200 modular is not supported on the R310. The H200 modular is only supported on blades. The two controllers supported in the modular slot on the R310 are the S300 modular and SAS6iR modular. The SAS6 HBA and SAS6iR are different controllers.
