R430 Ubuntu 18 kernel Bionic
Hello,
I'm trying to deploy Ubuntu 18.0 LTS "Bionic Beaver" on a PowerEdge R430 but the installation process ends up with an error state :
"end kernel panic - not syncing: Out of memory and no killable process".
Looking online Dell certified that server only till Ubuntu 16.04.
Do you have any tips or suggestion to get able to proceed with the installation even if not yet certified with?
Maybe do you know if there is a custom ISO anywhere ?
Any suggestion or advise will be appreciated.
Thanks you in advance.
Enrico

Hi,
How much system memory do you have? It sounds like it is running out of resources.

Hello Josh,
My system is a 4Gb RAM 120Gb SSD disk, it should be able to meet the minimum requirements of ubuntu 18, doesn't it?

Thanks,

That should be enough memory. I would try 16.04 and make sure that works fine.

Enrico,
Did you find a solution to the issue? I haven't tried installing Ubuntu 18 yet on our servers, but I'm curious if you found a workaround.
Thanks!
