R640 BIOS - Why does it look like this?

Hi all,

I recently acquired a Dell PowerEdge R640 and noticed that its BIOS looks like the following:

I have other R640's which have the more modern BIOS interface (which also doesnt run / feel incredibly sluggish either)

Anyone got any hints / suggestions to fixing this?

resetting the bios to defaults will fix this, OR you can go to Serial Communications in the bios, then set Serial Communication to Auto.  Rey#Iwork4Dell

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.

I’m a little confused myself as well because the first pic and the second seem to have come from a different place. It seems to be a different BIOS approach. I’ve never seen the first image before. 2^nd, I’m familiar with.
