R7525 - No Video Output
Hi
I have a PowerEdge R7525 server that displays no video when it boots.
I have been able to connect to her iDRAC via USB and can see nothing out of the ordinary, except the chassis intrusion alarm and power redundancy alarm.
I have disabled and re-enabled the embedded video controller, tried adding an NVIDIA P1000 GPU, cleared the NVRAM, re-seated all the RAM and Risers and Drives.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
J

Are you able to see video output on iDRAC vConsole? Can you also check the POST code shown on iDRAC "Maintenance -> Troubleshooting" page while booting the server. You can also check for any video capture details shown on this page.

Hi Shine
Thanks for your quick response.
I am new to Dell servers and didn't know what vConsole was but a bit of investigation soon showed that we did not have a licence for vConsole.
I was able to get a 30 day licence and then able to see the machine is booting to windows and I am able to make changes to windows via the vConsole.
The POST code says that it is 'handing control to UEFI aware OS'.
I spoke to Dell and after looking at the logs and some other troubleshooting, they are sending an engineer today to replace the motherboard.
Thanks for your help.

Is video not coming on both front and rear VGA ports of the server.
Can you SSH to iDRAC IP and run below command and share the value of "LocalVideo" attribute
racadm get iDRAC.VirtualConsole

Hi Shine
A motherboard change fixed the problem.
Thank you for your input!
