R7525 - takes an age to initialise
Hi,
We've purchased a few 100 AMD R7525s and they take an age to initialise?!
- POST time: 5mins 20s (black screen “Please wait while the system is initializing…”)
- Dell blue logo screen NICs/DISK.. DHCP @6mins 40s
The BIOS is set to BIOS rather than UEFI and the Memory tests are set to Disabled, however it still takes an age.
Anyone else having his issue or have a workaround?
Thanks in advance.

Silver-mox,
There wouldn't be a way of estimating an average boot time, as it is based on mutiple variables, from hardware to configuration. What I would suggest you start with is to make sure the server is completely up to date, starting with the BIOS, iDrac/LCC, raid controller, and drives. There is a platform specific bootable ISO you can use to update, which you can find here.
I would start there and see if it helps, you can also look at things like disabling the collect hardware inventory as well, but I would start with updating.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the prompt response, yes we use OME and the servers are all patched to the latest baselines.
I'll take a look at the 'disabling the collect hardware inventory' where is that found BIOS?
Many thanks

Hi Mox, Collect System Inventory On Restart (CSIOR) came to enable by default. In lifecycle controller hit F10 during restart> Hardware Configuration > Hardware Inventory > Collect System Inventory on Restart > Disable
Hope that helps!

Here to report the same infuriating behavior.
