R910 wont power on
Hi,
E1120 CPU VCORE. Temp: "CPU. VCORE. Regulator. temp. exceeding...."
I am getting the above message on my R910 server and it will not power on. Last time it was in action the fans were running at 3600 RPM whilst the machine was pretty much idle. I have just removed the CPU and heatsinks to clean away the thermal paste and reapply some new, however I'm still getting the same error on the LCD panel and the server will still not power up.
Any ideas?

Hello
There are several possible components that can cause this issue. The system board would be the most likely. You should take the system to minimum-to-POST and swap as many parts as possible to narrow down the possible faulty components.
The R910 requires a minimum of 2 CPUs to boot, but it can complete POST with a single CPU. It will stop at the end of POST with an error message with a single CPU. It also requires 2 memory modules in slots 1,2 on riser A. I suggest testing in a minimum configuration and swapping the memory and CPU that you test with.
If you encounter the same issues after swapping all possible components then the system board would be the most likely part.
