Server OS License Purchasing

What does mean by "Windows Server® 2019 DataCTR w/reassign,16CORE,FI,No Med,UnLTD VMs, Multi Language". Does the cost of the license included in the purchase or do we need to purchase the license with the product? It shows Zero price against the above-selected option. Can someone clarify it?

Hi,

disclosure: Iam a Dell partrner.

The SKU from above have a list price of 9100,- EUR or some what. It contains the license for sure. The difference to a "normal OEM" datacenter is that the license serial code  is not on a sticker in the lower left on top of the Dell server instead it is a extra paper sheet in that special case. For that "papersheet" a additional similar SKU exists which costs 0,- EUR. You have to select both to get a valid configuration in the dell shop/configurator.

Windows Server 2022 Datacenter w/reassign,16CORE,UnLTD VMs,DIB,COA = 0,-
Windows Server 2022 Datacenter w/reassign,16CORE,FI,No Med,UnLTD VMs, Multi Language = 9100,-

The "DIB" means something like "delivered in the (server) box" or similar which means within the factory Dell add and extra box within the server box.

Btw: In our use and business case we dont have a need for a Lic with reassignments rights because we never buying server for 3 or less years. Our hardware runs 7 or more years and we dont have a need to "move" the Windows license because when buying a new server we also buying new windows licenses because for sure there is a new Windows 20xx and downgrade rights are always included.

So we mostly buy Dell OEM Windows or the way cheaper Dell ROK Windows. Buts thats another story and not part of your question.

Regards,
Joerg
