Are there any special considerations for changing splitter type?

Take a look through the attached RecoverPoint IF to Symmetrix Splitter Migration Technical Note. It details the option of dual attaching volumes to the two separate splitters in order to avoid a full sweep, but if this is not a concern then it's simply a matter of decoupling the fabric splitter and performing a standard RP/Symmetrix deployment.

Thank you for your response. I have a follow-up questions if you don't mind answering.

A couple weeks back when we upgraded to Enginuity 5876 tagging errors started to show up after the upgrade was complete. We ended up changing the tweak "t_SanDiscoveryIgnoreSymmTagging" to "true" on the RPA's to get around these errors since we were only using fabric splitters at the moment. Support said this wouldn't need to be changed back when migrating off the fabric splitters, I was skeptical about this though and this technical note makes me even more so. Would the tweak need to be changed back to "false" when migrating over to the Symmetrix splitter?

If it doesn't need to be changed back to "false" do the devices still need to be tagged as RecoverPoint devices?

You will need to tag all the RP devices as per the TN and change the tweak back to false.

Okay that's good to know. I assume changing the tweak back to false while also setting the tweak for allowMigrationProcedure would be fine?

Yes, not a problem but I would advise you to move back to false and reboot the RPAs beofre proceeding with the other tweak as part of the mirgation procedure.
