Open replicator session running in RP

So OR is used in RP for Push or Pull operations ? So when the VMAX splitter is used OR is also used.

Can you give more details as how it works ? or any document that explains about this.

Bcoz when VNX or any other array is used then OR will not be used I believe. So what is the purpose of OR with VMAX splitter. If other arrays are used then how the function of OR is done in its absence ?

OR is only used by RP for the VMAX10 - 40K splitter which uses the following:

–Modified Hot Push Mode:

▪Continuous Push for production splitting

▪ALways Push Old (ALPO) for image access

–Splitter sessions are established with RPAs

▪RPAs present virtual targets and act as a “remote array”

▪RPAs present virtual devices as “remote devices”

Splitting occurs at the FA port, so it's imperative that the RPAs are zoned and masked to the same ports as the source LUNs.

Yes, RP uses a tailored version of Open Replicator for replication in conjunction with the VMAX splitter.
