Replication manager job slow
Hi!
I have a problem with the Replication Manager.
It is working with Recoverpoint with CDP mode with MS SQL Server2005.
It is working fine, but the whole copy creation process last for 4 minutes
in Replication Manager. Do you have any idea why it is too slow?
The environment:
- - 2 RPA boxes with CDP
- - 2 x Windows 2003 server with SP2 on ESX
- - SQL server 2005 and RM agents on the hosts
- - Replication manager are installed (5.4) on the Windows 2003 hosts
- - Replication manager verification is ok, Admsnap, windows fixes all installed.
- - I have approximately 9 RDM Kashya devices on the W2k3 hosts, but i have 32 devices configured (I not added all of them)
Any helps are appreciated...
Paul

Hi Pal
RM has a find amount of work to do in order to get a known good, consistent copy of the Database.
RM will perform a series of discovery and validation checks to the production SQL server to ensure that both the database is in a valid state for replication, the storage, host and RecoverPoint are OK and there is no danger introduced by RM trying to take a snapshot.
Doing this does indeed take a period of time. The actual time that the SQL Server database is in VDI backup mode is seconds, the actual bookmark creation is a small portion of that time, merely seconds.
Hope this helps
James.
