Incremental Sync really slow on millions of files
We have couple of specifications that takes an extremely long time to complete for incremental sync. Both specs are set for Attribute Compare Only. One of the specs has about 7 million files (16 hours) and the other spec is 12 million files (40 hours). The source and target servers are mirrored and forwarding in real time. We run these incremental syncs on the weekend as an added assurance. Any ideas how I can improve these incremental syncs???

Is a network band between sites 1gbps?
Is it 100mbps?
How many is one file size when you average it?
How many is size of the total file?

Please change the setting.
This setting had best performance.
Option ---> Performance
TCP/IP Buffer Size 64KB
Full Sync Buffer Size 128KB
Maximum Batch Size 256KB
Target Connections 1
Compression Level 0
Please full synchronization first.
In other words please exclude a check of Incremental.
If there is much number of the files, the incremental synchronization takes time adversely.
When the size of the file is 100KB, reading and writing is very slow in the specification of NTFS.
*This is not a issue of RepliStor.
Therefore, the full synchronization is earlier than the incremental synchronization.

The version that I tested is 6.4.
However, I do not think that the speed changes.
It doesn't change in Full SYnc though the performance of Incremental Sync has improved in 6.4.

Do you know how I can download a trial verison of 6.4? I wasn't able to find this on EMC's website. I tested the incremental sync this weekend and it's slower than before. So, maybe our version of 6.2 is not good. Thank you!

I also tested the incremental synch by reducing the compression level and number of targets, it's actually slower. The best rate was achieved using 8 target connections with compression level of 1. That means what we have in production seems to be the best and there is no way to improve this...
