mount replication vm from snap

Hello,

I am having trouble bringing a virtual machine back online from a snap.

The snap has mounted find, and the snap datastore is available, but when I try to import the vmx file from the snapshot, it gives me an invalid path and uuid.

Am I trying to bring that vm online incorrectly from the snap datastore?

Thanks for any feedback.

I moved the vm from the snap to a datastore and I could start up the vm just fine. Is that the procedure? Cant run from snap, but copy, then run from a Datastore?

Just looking for a verification that is correct.

Thanks again,

Rip

Was the snap mounted read only?

I can't find any options in replication manager to
mount the snap read only or read/write. Is there a
specific place to set that?

There just is no place to set read only or otherwise. Maybe this is not an option with mounting snaps on ESX hosts. It then goes back to my original question on what is the correct process. Are you not able to mount vm's from there snap datastore? If so, then the process is to copy out of snap datastore to a production datastore, and mount and use from there.

I am still researching. I will update this post when I get an answer.
