Replication Manager combined with host based mirroring possible?
Hello, we plan to install Oracle 10.2 DBs in AIX 6.1 LPARs. The LPARs can be moved from one IBM p570 to the other p570 in our DR site. On both sites a DMX4 is available for storage and a SAN with redundant Cisco MDS9506. The LPAR gets virtual HBAs (NPIV) and LUNs for OS and data, powerpath is also installed. It is planned to use host based mirroring via AIX LVM in the LPAR, so that OS and data LUNs are mirrored on the DMXs in both sites.
We also would like to use replication Manager to create copies and backups of our Oracle DBs in the LPARs. In the support matrix PDF of elab navigator support for RM5.2, AIX 6.1, AIX LVM, JFS2 and Oracle 10.2 is mentioned. But there is no statement about supporting or not supporting host based mirroring with LVM.
I think the RM agent will recognize the DB, find the corresponding fileszstems, logical volumes, volume groups. But what happens when there is a mirrored lv which uses disks from 2 different arrays?

I'm interested too in an answer to that question. I'm wondering that so far no one (esp. of the EMC guys in the forum) has commented on that?
