Replication Manager - Sometimes get a 259 error when replicating Exchange
I am using Replication Manager 5.2.1.0 to replicate Exchange 2003 data and mount it on my Replication Manager host, and then backup to tape using via my Netbackup server.
Most of the time my Replication Manager jobs complete without any issues, but occasionally one of the jobs will fail with a 259 error code (see details below from one of the failed jobs). The error seems to point to one of the Exchange log files, but I have looked through the Windows event logs on the Exchange server, and on the Replication Manager server and cannot find any 259 errors, or any ESE / ESEUTIL related errors.
The guy who ran this system left last year and I inherited it, so I have some knowledge (but limited) of how this works, and limited knowledge of Exchange.
Anyone seen the 259 error before?
Thanks, Colin.

You can mount the replica and run eseutil /k Enn Enn= E03 and see if the utility actually fails.

Eseutil error 259 corresponds with a Buffer Manager error according to the following Microsoft Technet article..
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=266361
Are there any events in the application or system event log prior to the eseutil error?
I suspect that you may see some virtual memory errors in the event log a few seconds prior to the eseutil error
