Secondary-Redundant SCG server

What is the best practice for having SCG servers at multiple sites?  Can we add a server for redundancy?

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.

There are no plans to create SCG redundancy or cluster yet. But as long as you comply with network requirements/firewall rules/ports. You can have 2 SCG instances managing the same nodes.

You can have an SCG cluster node at Site A and at Site B. You will have to make sure that your firewall rules will allow for the devices to talk to both sites. You will also need to verify that the devices are configured to use a primary (Site A) and a secondary (Site B) SCG hosts in their configuration.

Keep in mind that SCG clustering is pretty simple. There are no active/active or active/passive concepts. There is just a primary and secondary cluster nodes that share information about the registered devices.

There is some information here about clustering SCG nodes together.

Hope this helps!
