Emailxtender extended container path
Hi
All emails are archived in G:/ Drive which is the defined Extended Container path.
It is becoming bigger and bigger to backup and my idea was to try to separate this year archive files from the previous years, in order to backup once the previous years, and only this year's archive weekly or monthly.
I have been trying to find a way to create another drive with another Extender container to move the previous 5 years of archive which are now static and do not need to be backup anymore.
However, I could not find a way to add a second physicall archive container.
Is there a way?
We already remove volumes older than 7 years, but in our case we really need to keep the 5 years online for retrieval.
As someone got any idea on how I could achieve this?
Thanks

Hi,
Currently the product does not allow for volumes to be moved between archive folders or drives. However one suggestion would be to create a new archive folder and direct your ongoing activities to that folder. All new content would be archived into that folder and the older content would be available for retrievals with little to no modifications.

Sorry, I thought the question was in reference to SourceOne which has the ability I referenced above in my reply. For EmailXtender questions, I think there is a different user group but I don't have a reference to it. From what I recall, I don't believe there is a way to do it other than possibly adding another EmailXtender server to start archiving new data to it while turning off archiving on the other EmailXtender server. The old server would remain available for retrievals and the new would start archiving new content (with some possible duplication).

In SourceOne you can search by Folder and Copy to another.

Thanks Peter for taking the time to answer.
I will digest what you said and will try to implement it.
BTW, do you know if the feature is available in OneSource, as we are planning to migrate to that product next year?
