Web based search application ES1 6.7 SP2

I have a need to modify search application or. better search form.. Is it possible? Here is some background. I am using ES1 for archiving Exchange 2007 and also for archiving file server. Since ES1 has a a realy useless set up part on archive permissions (who will set all permissions manually again) my idea is that I can give a read-all permission on archive folder dedicated for file server archiving. User will see shares and shortcuts as before and will be able to open shortcuts (and also permissions on folder level will be still in place). But I do not want that users in WEB-BASED search can pick or search for archived items in maped folder dedicated for FSA. But users must be able to do that task for e-mails, archived in separate maped folder. So, is it possible to somehowe modify this web application not to show this drop-down menu? Or is there any better approach to acomplish this goal?
