BSOD setupdd.sys
I get this screen when I try to reinstall windows XP home. I get to the point where it asks me what partion to install to, and all it says under the partions is UNKNOWN, I hit enter on one and then I get a BSOD that says...
the problem seems to be caused by the following file: setupdd.sys

Called Dell and they always transfer me to the people in INDIA, and they have no clue, they want to charge me, to be able to speak to an american for a software issue when this is not a software issue. I bought a 3 year warrantee on this stupid machine, and I am not happy they want to charge me more to get it fixed. IS IT POSSIBLE TO SPEAK TO AN AMERICAN?? I am really getting agitated.

The first time I contacted India, it was for a replacement HD, after three hours, they insisted it was the motherbother and a motherboard was shipped, even after I placed the phone against the case and you could hear the HD making a noise, like nuts and bolts being shaken in a can.
Never have heard a motherboard make that type of noise.....
But, I must be fair, I have found some excellent Techies in their oversea's call centers.
