d drive missing!!!

Hi, I just tried to listen to a cd, and my computer isn't recognizing it. I went to the device manager, and it has a ! point next to it.  Can any one tell me what to do, I am not a computer wiz. I have a dimension 4600

    Snowflake,
     
    Uninstall the device in the Device Manager and reboot and it will auto detect
    the drive and install the correct driver.  The correct driver is supplied by
    Windows.  Is there an Error Code in the Device Manager?

    Try to reinstall the driver from the discs provided with ur dell pc, or , if you know the cd drive that you have  download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

    I am having the same problem. my error says (code 39) cannot upload the driver for this device. File either corrupt or missing. I uninstalled the device, then rebooted, but still have the problem.

    Try this Dell Article for Removing the UpperFilters and LowerFilters Values
    with the Registry Editor here ...............
