i have 2 dell machines a sc1420 and a precision 490.... my problem is i bought a memory upgrade for my 490 and the memory wont fit .... it will fit in my 1420 but i get the beep codes no memory ... speed is the isue i think..... my problem is ... both machines are ddr2 ... so why wont the memory fit in my 490 .... i have gone to the crucial memory web site checked my 490 and it says ddr2 ... any help would be nice
There is more than 1 kind of DDR2 FULLY BUFFERED RAM is not compatible with UNBUFFERED RAM or Registered ECC RAM. The 1420 is a totally DIFFERENT Chipset.
