Problems with screen resolution and Control Center

I upgraded to a wide screen flat panel monitor yesterday. That was the good news, the bad news is now all of my EMC GUI software will not work. The new flat panel needs to be set to 1680 x 1050. When I try to open Control Center or Replication Manager the login screen pops up but is grayed out and just hangs. If I throttle the resolution back to 1600 x 1200 everything works. Is there a workaround for this? I would prefer to not have to leave the monitor set to 1600 x 1200. Thanks.
